Pyromorphite "pocket"$3,000.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
This sparkling specimen is a complete pocket showing how a coating of pyromorphite might form in an open space in nature. These crystals have the best possible luster you could ever imagine in an Idaho pyromorphite - or anywhere, for that matter. The photos and video speak for themselves. This piece has color, luster, and outright quality at the top percentile for these factors. The crystals reach 1 cm. It came from 1980s finds here, never repeated and simply legendary today, among collectors. The rarest color at the time was the pure yellow, which you see here ringing the periphery, as the crystals grade to a more orange tone in the middle and bottom. Most recovered specimens were plates scraped off the walls as they literally coated a few large rooms in the old Jersey Vein part of this mine (as it was termed), and then a long tunnel of smaller pockets which produced different styles of specimens. The mine had been worked since the late 1890s for silver, and the pyromorphite simply was never seen nor reported until the 1980s in any quality. It was a surprise then, and a legendary find now. The mine is currently a Superfund site undergoing decades of cleanup. The vein these were found in was exhausted, in any case.
