YES, this is actually a wulfenite so big and clear from Tsumeb, that it LOOKS like a baryte from Peru! That is exactly what it looks like, but it is indeed a ridiculously large, fine, transparent, intact, undamaged Tsumeb wulfenite measuring. 5 x 3 cm in size, and robust (relatively) at 3mm in thickness. Honestly, this one surprised me. In the purchase of the Liebetrau collection, I myself mistook it for a Peruvian baryte when I first saw it. The matrix is classic Tsumeb dolomite/quartz and the crystal is a wulfenite, but it just has such a striking look at first, that it is easy to look at the style rather than the actual crystal habit, if that makes sense. It is a miracle of survival, as well - so complete, so large, so exposed, and yet complete as displayed on a vertical pedestal of matrix. We regard this as one of the treasures of the collection, built over 60 years by Al and Sue Liebetrau. Notably, the piece is more lustrous from one side, as shown in the first photo. However, it is complete on both sides. The photos do not show the true clarity and gemminess here because it is SO transparent that the camera looks right through the front and catches too much of the microtexture on the back face, making it look more cloudy in the photos than in the video or in person.
