Vanadinite
This large miniature Arizonan Vanadinite specimen is a cracker from J.C. Holmes mine, Temporal Gulch in Santa Cruz County. Known for very distinctive Vanadinite crystals from since the 1950s or 1960s, their form, or shape is a crystallographic pleasure - forming doubly-terminated hexagonal prisms with pyramidal tips. This, combined with their orange colour and quite resinous lustre makes them quite alluring. Individually, the crystals reach 5 mm across. A really rich Vanadinite for Arizona.
