My name is Matthäus (Matthew) Parshchikov. I was born in 2006 and I’m based in Cologne, Germany. I study earth sciences at the university of Bonn.

After restarting mineral collecting in 2020 I quickly wanted to share my collection via mineral photography. So I reshaped my focus from worldwide to only USSR countries (like Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan etc.). I photograph minerals professionally since 2023, initially to access a wider, more beautiful variety of specimens to show the world. Now I’m fascinated by the people I meet, their mineral stories. Also, I love smiling customers. 

My work has been published in multiple magazines like the Mineralogical Record, Rocks & Minerals, extraLapis, Mineralogical Almanac, Mineralica as well as the Munich Show 2024 themebook and you can see my photos in many more different places, like the advertisement banner for mindat.org in Mineral City and on flyers for the London and Paris mineral show.

I also host the interview program “Under the Radar” for the Young Mineral Collectors organization.
