Submitting events & services
A local mineral show or the right specialist can be a valuable discovery for a collector. Sharing what you know helps other people find them too.

The Events pages help collectors find shows, exhibitions, and gatherings. The Services directory introduces people whose work supports a collection, from specimen photography to custom bases. You can contribute an event you know about or list a service you offer. Both are free to submit and are reviewed by the EarthWonders team before they appear publicly.
An event worth making the trip for
When someone discovers a mineral show, their first questions are usually practical: when is it, where is it, and what will they find there? A useful event page answers those questions without making them search elsewhere for the basics. A few sentences about the exhibitors, displays, or talks can help someone decide whether it is the right visit for them.
You'll find Submit an event in the Create menu once you're signed in. The form needs an event title and both a start and end date. For a one-day gathering, those dates are the same. The description, location, official website, logo, and cover image are optional, but a venue and a reliable link make the page much more useful to someone planning a journey.
You don't have to be the organiser to share an event. If you are adding a show you plan to attend, check its dates and venue against the organiser's information and include the official website. That gives readers somewhere to check for updates before setting off.
Helping collectors understand your work
A service page is an introduction to what you do and who it is for. Imagine a collector looking for their first professional photographs or a base for an awkwardly shaped specimen. They need more than a business name: they want to understand the work you offer and how to begin a conversation with you.
In the Create menu, List a service opens the form. A service title, provider name, and category are the required details. A title such as Mineral specimen photography makes the offering clear, while the provider name tells people who is behind it. Choose the category that best describes your work.
The rest is a chance to make that introduction helpful. A short tagline can explain your specialism, and the description can cover the kinds of specimens you work with and what a collector can expect. Your location helps people judge whether a local visit is practical; a cover image can show an example of your work. These details are optional, as are your contact email, website, Instagram, and phone. Adding them gives people more ways to reach you. Website and Instagram fields take full links, rather than just a name or handle.
Between submitting and appearing in the directory
The Save button on either form sends your submission for review; it does not publish it immediately. A thank-you page confirms that it has been submitted. Once approved, an event appears on the Events page and a service appears in the Services directory.
While a service is being reviewed, you can find it under Your submissions on the Services page. It is not public, and editing is paused until it has been approved. If you notice a mistake during that time, contact support to request a correction. Event changes also go through the team rather than a self-service editor.
Keeping the information useful
A changed venue or an out-of-date contact link can make an otherwise useful page frustrating. For an event, contact support with the correction. For an approved service you own, Edit lets you update the page yourself.
Saving a service update sends it back for review, so it temporarily disappears from the public directory. It remains under Your submissions, but you won't be able to edit it again until it is approved. It is worth gathering your changes before saving so the team can review the updated information together.
