A specimen that came from a squished oval shaped pocket at the site, The entire pocket was full of dirt and all the fluorites on the bottom were coated in the brown material you see on the piece, it will slowly come off with phosphoric acid, but it takes time. Most of the fluorites from the pocket were a variety of habits from modified cubes to varieties of dodecahedral habits. The pocket was discovered as I was pulling back more granite to make the hole larger and easier to work on/in, initially I came across a smaller void that had a few nice fluorite orbs, as i worked that and removed the specimens and dug under where they originally sat I suddenly hit a void full of fine dirt which ended up being 1.5ft long and a foot wide with fluorites coating the bottom, many were not in great condition due to past stress causing fractures but it produced a lot of "keeper" specimens like this one. The pocket came out in pieces due to it being heavily fractured and in a unstable and crumbly granite matrix. The specimens from the find are brand new and were dug up in February 2025 by me.
Thanks for looking! Any support helps me to continue to dig for cool specimens like this and bring them to other collectors.
