Rare, deep olive-green bladed crystals of Chloroxiphite are exposed obliquely across columnar pink white Mendipite. Also in association are patches of blue Diaboleite and yellow Paralaurionite. This rich specimen with several areas of these rare oxychloride species is from the famous Torr Works quarry at Cranmore in Somerset, England. Mineral collectors often refer to this locality as Merehead quarry; the two being synonymous but Torr Works quarry is the official name. The quarry is still worked for limestone by Aggregate Industries but the zone in which the manganese pods containing the exotic suite of oxychloride minerals is long since worked out.
