Cobaltoan Smithsonite
Unknown Owner
This beautiful large miniature Smithsonite from Tsumeb mine is an attractive soft pink colour indicating that it is probably Cobaltoan Smithsonite and has a fine satin lustre. The main display face is encrusted with thin lenticular crystals aggregated in rosetted forms, but the Smithsonite continues throughout much of the specimen in a rich dome-like mass. Individual crystals reach 5 mm in length and are really well-defined in form. The specimen is in great condition overall, making for a really fine display.
