Vanadinite

Vanadinite from Mibladen Mining District, Morocco. 21st Century.

Vanadinite is a vanadium rich lead-apatite mineral. Crystals form in hexagonal shapes, and most often display shades of orange and red. Moroccan examples set the bar for the species with the largest crystals of fine quality. Unmistakably Moroccan, with decadent, deep red-orange color this specimen has brilliant luster which accentuates every crystal face.
