Crocoite
1
Crocoite from The Adelaide Mine, Australia. 21st Century.
Crocoite is a rare lead chromate that can be exceedingly difficult to recover. In fact, there’s only one place on earth famous for fine examples, Tasmania. This specimen exemplifies the most desirable traits of the species with its arresting, orange coloration and explosive spray of elongated crystals. Their sleek luster and intense color are punctuated by a dark rock matrix. Dramatic and instantly impactful, it is a prime example of the species.
