Tetrahedrite with Cinnabar$600.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
A lovely old-time specimen from the famous mercury-mining region at Landsberg (Moschellandsberg), Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany with great heritage. This small cabinet sized specimen has small cavities containing microcrystals of silvery metallic Tetrahedrite and deep red Cinnabar. A trail of three old handwritten labels accompany the specimen. They all refer to Native Mercury, or Quicksilver, which is not instantly apparent on the specimen, but the specimen itself has a typed number 615 attached to it which relates specifically to the old labels. One, an early "Krantz & Comp. in Berlin" dealer label dates to 1850 and this date appears to be repeated on another of the old labels. A separate label attached to to the specimen appears to show a head. It is unclear what this relates to but it is certainly intriguing.
