Zoisite (var. Tanzanite)
Named "Rachel" by the mim in honor ot the collector's sister-in-law who passed away brutally in 2012, and whose preferred mineral in the collection was this one. Lustrous, very transparent single crystal, with very few inclusions over more than 3/4 the height, and very marked trichroism. Some graphite is attached at the base, which is characteristic of the Merelani mine.
