Silver colored nugget consisting of a solid solution in approximately equal parts of osmium and iridium. It is likely one of the largest known nuggets made of these two metals which together with rhodium, are the rarest elements in the Earth's crust. The composition varies in the sample and the proportion of iridium outweighs the osmium in some places, the opposite being true in others. The analysis even shows in some places up to 11% by mass of ruthenium at the expense of iridium. Gold appears as very rare and very small inclusions (no more than 5 microns) in the iridium-osmium matrix.

Origin: López de Micay, Cauca, Colombia
