Twin composed of two lustrous, brownish-red, well crystallized flattened crystals. One of the two crystals is adorned with several shiny spessartites, the largest measuring 12 mm. Analysis of the crystal shows a proportion of Zn higher than Fe + Mn, which technically makes it genthelvite rather than helvite.
