Pyromorphite
The Driggeth mine (also spelt Driggith) worked a continuation of the Roughton Gill South lode and this excellent small cabinet specimen typifies the distinctive Pyromorphite from this mine. It is one of those mines which does not appear to have attained world-famous status, but has produced fine specimens and is an integral part of the mineralogy of the Caldbeck Fells in the English Lake District. Individual barrel-shaped crystals of pale siskin-green Pyromorphite to about 3 mm richly coat a vuggy-ribbed matrix of creamy-tan vein Quartz. A showy specimen and an excellent addition for any collector building a good representative suite of Caldbeck Fells minerals.
