Pyromorphite
A stunning old-time and super rich specimen of bi-coloured Pyromorphite from the Sherman mine at Burke in Idaho, USA. Somewhat forgotten about after the remarkable discoveries of world-class Pyromorphite at the nearby Bunker Hill mine during the early 1980s, Sherman mine has clearly produced its own remarkable specimens of this lead secondary species, but much, much earlier. Attractive and abundant crystals of lustrous light green Pyromorphite with yellowish lime green terminations cover a ferruginous, rusty coloured gossan matrix. The Pyromorphite crystals average 0.5 to 1 cm in height with many exhibiting some degree of hopper development. Specimens of this richness and size are seldom seen from Sherman mine making this an exceptional example.
