Tucson, Arizona, USAThis well crystallised Cassiterite comes with no specific mine name but is from the Camborne mining district in Cornwall, England. The Cassiterite occurs in a dark bluish green chloritised matrix together with a 2.5 x 2.0 cm inclusion of massive Fluorite. The Cassiterite forms reasonably gemmy, deep clove brown elongated prisms, quite thick yet tending to acicular. This habit is similar to the narrower variety Sparable Tin. This habit, together with the presence of Fluorite, suggests Dolcoath mine as a strong contender. Dolcoath mine was a huge mine just to the east of Camborne and spanning the full width of Tuckingmill valley, south from Roskear.
