A Quartz epimorph after Fluorite. This is an unusual form for the mine, most of the epimorphs from Rampgill are thin plates whereas this is a much thicker example being around 1cm in thickness. Here the quartz has grown over a cubic mineral probably Fluorite which has been dissolved out at some stage, occasionally you can find small remnants of the original Fluorites in the corners of the impressions. at some time after the Fluorites has been removed Sphalerites have grown on the specimen.

From the Boundary Cross vein area of the mine.
